Our Purpose
Reliant Carbon Capture is in the business of developing critical elements of the burgeoning low carbon economy by financing key components of carbon capture, and storage. Reliant aims to partner with carbon intensive businesses to help them transition to a lower carbon model by capturing, transporting, and permanently sequestering their CO2 emissions. A low carbon economy must include the ability to capture and permanently sequester CO2, a greenhouse gas and contributor to climate change, and Reliant is participating in the development of the critical infrastructure to achieve the world’s climate goals.
What We Do
Reliant is retrofitting critical US fossil fuel power plant infrastructure with carbon capture equipment and building associated geological CO2 storage sites. Reliant will capture CO2 emissions from the power station and permanently store the captured CO2 via geological sequestration. Upgrading these power stations with carbon capture technology will help transition baseload generation to a low-carbon future.

CO2 Production (Emitter)
Produces CO2 as part of an industrial process and hosts the capture operations on-site.
CO2 Capture and Transport
Reliant invests capital to design, build, and operate the CO2 capture equipment. Once captured, the CO2 is prepared for transport to a permitted storage site.
CO2 Storage and Sequestration
The captured CO2 is transported to a secure geological sequestration site that is owned and operated by a Reliant affiliate. Reliant injects the CO2 into sub-surface geological formations that are suitable for the permanent sequestration of CO2. After injection stops, Reliant will continue to monitor the injected CO2 into the future.
Tax Equity Financing
Financial partners provide capital to the ecosystem and pays for the project operations (including payments to the Emitter).
